There were people who worked so hard to make sure their nations reminded independent and was able to make its decisions. It is because of people like Leonard Tilley that Canada never got swallowed to become a state in America. Tilley who was a pharmacists had to sell his store in order to pursue a political career. The north was still angry at Britain for failing to provide them with necessary military support. After that war the British government was not willing to pay in order to defend them from the United States which wanted to take over the northern part. Therefore they realized the only possible way to defeat America was if the north part become an in dependent country.
There were economic issues that these founders based their arguments from before alliance was fully formed. Holding three conferences trying to pass the idea some countries had not realized the importance. Before the alliance countries would not trade freely. After the alliance trade become easy which explains why a Canadian citizen does not need any kind of visa to go to the United States.
In the same period the northern colonies especially the province of Canada had some political problems. The two parties involved in making decisions on how to run the country had differences. They also did not speak the same language. Some spoke English while others used French to communicate so joining other colonies made the decision making process easier.
If these people would still be alive today they would be so happy to see how amazing the country has become. They will forever be remembered for making the country great and independent. Some of them did not have their story end well. Darcy McGee who was a journalist before becoming a politician was shot and killed after being part of the revolution for about ten years.
These are heroes whose good work will never be forgotten. The entire event is still cherished by Canadians to this very day. They saw things differently and worked towards creating an amazing nation that it is today. The first Canadian Prime Minister John Macdonald was also part of the team involved in planning which was part of amazing change.
