A Discussion On The Best Art Communities Online

By Brian Lewis

There are certain respectable careers that rake in less hard cash, even when compared to less painstaking and less exacting jobs. This couldnt be truer for the stereotypical starving artists who earn a pittance for their magnum opuses. This isnt exactly true for everyone, just for those who dont have the opportunity and means to effectively market their works. This is now made easier, however, with the Best Art Communities Online.

The thing with creativity is that it can get pretty much dried up and depleted. Which must be why we have terms like writers and artists block. With a little nudging and prodding, however, these creative souls can get back on the prolific track. Recovery can be easier when you have your peers and fellows out and about.

This is, in a sense, the nub with artists residencies. These places are the happy hunting grounds for creative free spirits, which are often surrounded by exquisite surroundings that immediately shake off the formidable block. Creative spirits tend to converge around these areas, and as a result, they form a community. There is a so called City of Painters, Collioure, which can be found in France. Evidently enough, there are other such examples, and they are too long to enumerate.

The thing, though, is that a physical, corporeal community is not viable nowadays. Even the places mentioned above are already interpolated with folks who dont give two hoots about culture and the arts. In the modern age, artists are an essentially dispersed lot.

But this does not mean that they can no longer form a community. Over the Internet, enterprising individuals have created a virtual niche where artists and free spirits can join and leverage their works. They come with all kinds of features and purposes, but the accordingly diverse target audience has adapted them depending to their needs.

They are the point of convergence for creative denizens who are looking for virtual and technical inspiration, in the form of posted artworks and tutorials. If you are an across the board artist who enjoys all genres and media like painting, photography, sculpture, illustration, interior design, website design, you can find technically anything you can think of. These nifty platforms also proffer feedback to the creator through some online forum discussions and allow communication through chat tools and message boards.

Enterprising artists also use these virtual hubs for promoting themselves and their works. You may accept commissions and appraisals, and also arrange and disseminate exhibitions youre planning. Some sites turn your artwork into promo items by converting them into prints, greeting cards, t shirts, and others. Then again, if youre the typical starving artist, this is also the got to place to accept donations from people who patronize your work.

In most sites, however, the interface is a little bit outdated, which could impinge on its functionality. Mere hobbyists are also rife around here, so you may also be inundated with mediocre and low quality work. That can be a little aggravating for those who are out for the magnum opus. The World Wide Web is also the stomping ground for scammers who can rip you off on the purchases and opportunities you make.

The nub of the matter, though, is that these communities allow these quintessential artists to make names for themselves in an industry which is often hard on people who have no leverage. Its a given that not all are meant to be successful and remembered. They just do what they do for pure love and enjoyment. Art communities enable them to reinforce this feeling.
